Inspired by the shadows cast on a wall by my red geranium this fresco secco is part of a repeating design that one day I’ll make into a wallpaper.

In the background petal silhouettes are picked out in gold leaf and the surface is patinated in cracks and the faint texture of the hessian support on which the plaster is applied.

The design wraps around the edges of the panel making this a standout piece with which to coordinate a room scheme.
