Cushions for Le Bon Marche
A collection of painted cushions for this famous department store in Paris
The Project in Brief
This iconic department store in Paris was founded in 1838 and and was the first ever modern department store.
Their buyers approached me to supply a collection of hand painted cushions for their revamped Home department. They gave me moodboards with that season’s themes and colour palettes and I developed a range of designs drawn together from various historic references, to coordinate. Specific sizes and linens were agreed, and I set to work painting one cushion at a time making each one unique. I designed and added labels then off they went to be displayed on the shop floor.
